Bitcoin Cash is in an odd spot on Apple hardware. The wallets exist and several are genuinely good, but the ecosystem is small enough that most "best wallet" lists are recycled from 2019 and half the apps they name are gone.
Let's start with the question people actually search for, because the honest answer isn't the one most pages give.
There is no iPad-native Bitcoin Cash wallet
Not one. Every option below is an iPhone app that runs on iPad in compatibility mode — a phone-shaped window, or scaled up and slightly soft.
It works fine. Electron Cash, Bitcoin.com, Paytaca and the rest all function on an iPad. But if you were hoping for something designed for a 13-inch canvas with a proper split-view layout, it doesn't exist, and anyone telling you otherwise hasn't installed it.
If you want a real desktop-class BCH experience, that's macOS, where Electron Cash is a native app rather than a stretched phone app.

For most people the answer is short: Electron Cash on a Mac, Paytaca or Electron Cash on an iPhone or iPad. Use Exodus instead if you hold several coins and would rather not run a separate app for each.
Worth flagging: Badger Wallet, which appears in a lot of older guides, looks to be sunset — recent traces are mostly instructions for moving funds out of it. If your BCH is sitting there, move it.

The one to remember is Coldcard: it is deliberately Bitcoin-only and will never support BCH. People buy one assuming "Bitcoin" covers Bitcoin Cash. It doesn't.
CashAddr vs legacy — the mistake that costs money
BCH addresses come in two formats. Legacy starts with a 1 or a 3 and is byte-for-byte the same format Bitcoin uses. CashAddr is base32 and starts with the bitcoincash: prefix, like bitcoincash:qz.... Both encode the same public key hash, and any legacy address converts to CashAddr and back.
The problem is obvious once stated: because BCH and BTC share the legacy format, an address you're staring at may belong to either chain, and there's nothing on the screen to tell you which. Send BTC to a legacy BCH address and it's gone.
The fix is a habit, not a tool — insist on the bitcoincash: prefix for every BCH send. Modern wallets default to CashAddr precisely to make the chains visually distinct. If something hands you a legacy address, convert it before sending.
Why people put up with the smaller ecosystem
Fees, mostly. Recent network data puts the average BCH transaction fee at about 0.000025 BCH — roughly half a cent, with a median closer to $0.0008. Fees make up about 0.06% of the miner reward, which is another way of saying nobody is bidding for block space.
Blocks target ten minutes, same as Bitcoin, and were averaging 10m 59s at the time of writing. So confirmation is not faster than Bitcoin — the win is cost and predictability, not speed. That matters if you're moving money often; it matters much less on a one-off purchase.
The network is also still developing. CashTokens — fungible tokens and NFTs natively on BCH — arrived with the May 2023 upgrade, and a further hard fork in May 2026 shipped new contract capabilities, with Electron Cash pushing a compatibility update on 15 May 2026. Keeping your wallet current genuinely matters on this chain.
